A tattoo is a design drawn on any body part using either ink or dye. Tattoos are also referred to as a permanent kind of body art. Drawing a tattoo requires a lot of art skills, neatness, and the use of surgical equipment to protect people from contracting diseases. Tattoos are a bad thing to others and a good thing by others. A tattoo artist is someone who designs and draws tattoos on peoples’ skin. Artists must know about health and the use of surgical tools, tattoo drawing can be a way to spread diseases using needles if people are not careful.
There a many reasons people would refuse to do certain tattoos on their bodies. One reason could be religious beliefs, some designs may be deemed as evil. According to Larsson (2014), islands are forbidden from getting tattoos to protect them from HIV/AIDS or hepatitis. A Christian will find it odd to have a tattoo of the devil or an angel with horns. This goes against their beliefs and may be considered taboo to them. Most religions do not accept tattoos, especially Christianity, this is believed to be an evil omen. Christians with tattoos are those who may have repented when after already getting a tattoo.
One other reason to refuse a tattoo would be the meaning associated with a specific design. The majority of tattoo drawings are linked to certain meanings. One example is that of the phoenix bird, which is associated with rebirth. If a customer dislikes the meaning, the chances are high that a customer will look for another tattoo. People tattoo designs that have a meaning associated with their current situations in life. A person will refuse a tattoo with a different meaning from what the client wants to have on their body.
Customers can refuse to have a tattoo on their bodies because of the art. Some drawings are not as good-looking as compared to some others. A person can refuse the art, it may not be what they want, it may not be pleasing to them. A client might refuse it so that they can get a different design that looks good on them. There are designs which morally wrong, such as a person killing another, some drawers find these pleasing. The one getting tattooed on can refuse this art, it will be unpleasant visually, but it is wrong morally.
A tattoo may not be accepted by a person because of the position the artist thinks it is meant to be. An individual may want a tattoo on their arm, yet it will look good on their back or a different part of their body. Those with jobs may refuse a tattoo due to their work rules. Most companies do not accept people with tattoos, this is influence by their association with rowdiness and is considered unprofessional. There are tattoos artists draw that are copied from other artists and do not look good. A customer can refuse a tattoo, the artist will not be as good as the one being copied.
People may refuse a tattoo because of the artists’ previous work; the customer would have seen this is not the standard or quality needed. It is always important for those getting a tattoo to first go through the artist’s previous work. This will determine whether their tattoo will be good or not, they always choose to change or stick to that artist. Other artists are not professionals, they do not have art skills. It will be a wise decision for a client to get a professional, tattoos are permanent, it will cost them to remove than to look for a skilled drawer. An amateur will not be able to bring out most designs as required, especially the complicated ones.
Other artists enjoy designing inappropriate body art for their clients, this drives clients away. If a client notices that an artist’s work is full of provocative work, they will most likely refuse the tattoo. They will either ask for a different design or get a different artist to work on their body. Sometimes it may not be appropriate to stay in the presence of such a person, particularly for women. It becomes an unsafe environment; it will be best they refuse the art.
